Career Counseling

Counselors are faculty who have Master’s degrees in counseling. They are available to provide career assistance, help students select a career path, and identify employment trends and training for obtaining employment.

Consider meeting with a counselor if you would like assistance with:

• Career assessment and interpretation^**
• Interests, abilities, and values clarification
• Assistance with career decision-making

^**The Counseling Center offers two career assessment instruments for a small fee.

Strong Interest Inventory

Compares your interests with people in a variety of occupations to assess similar or dissimilar interests.

Myers Briggs Type Indicator

Helps students identify their personality type and occupations that are most attractive to persons with a similar personality type. The indicator helps students learn which work environment can provide career satisfaction for each personality type.
