Career Counseling
Counselors are faculty who have Master’s degrees in counseling. They are available to
provide career assistance, help students select a career path, and identify employment trends
and training for obtaining employment.
Consider meeting with a counselor if you would like assistance with:
- Career assessment and interpretation**
- Interests, abilities, and values clarification
- Assistance with career decision-making
**The Counseling Center offers two career assessment instruments for a
small fee.
Information about each is listed below.
- Strong Interest Inventory
- Compares your interests with people in a variety of occupations to assess similar or dissimilar interests.
- Myers Briggs Type Indicator
- Helps students identify their personality type and occupations that are most attractive to persons with a similar personality type. The indicator helps students learn which work environment can provide career satisfaction for each personality type.
Students interested in taking one of these career evaluations should make an appointment with a counselor by calling (206) 764-5387.
